Hey there! We’re Emily and Elisabeth, a mother-daughter duo with a shared love for antiques, vintage finds, old homes, decorating, and giving forgotten pieces a new life.
Upstate Vintage Living began with a simple belief: the most beautiful homes aren’t bought all at once—they’re collected over time.
Our love for antiques and decorating goes back generations. For more than four generations, our family has found beauty and possibility in things others might overlook. Auctions, flea markets, antique shops, old houses, family heirlooms, and unexpected roadside finds have all been part of that story. We grew up believing that something doesn’t have to be new—or expensive—to be beautiful.
Over the years, each generation has brought its own style to that tradition. Our homes have never fit neatly into one design category. Instead, they’ve been an eclectic mix of old and new, traditional and unexpected, with influences ranging from farmhouse and French country to coastal, industrial, bohemian, and classic vintage. We believe the best spaces feel collected rather than decorated and, most importantly, reflect the people who live in them.
From a Love of Antiques to Upstate Vintage Living
What began as a creative outlet eventually grew into something much more.
We started Upstate Vintage Living as a place to share our adventures in antique hunting, restoring and decorating old homes, DIY projects, organizing, gardening, and creating beautiful spaces without spending a fortune. Along the way, friends, family, and neighbors began asking us to help with their homes, whether that meant redesigning a room, organizing a difficult space, staging a property, or simply figuring out how to make a house feel more like home.
Today, Upstate Vintage Living brings all of those passions together.

Our love of the hunt has a home of its own. You can shop Upstate Vintage Living in person at our booth inside the Coxsackie Antique Center in Coxsackie, New York.
Our booth is an ever-changing collection of pieces we find interesting, beautiful, useful, unusual—or sometimes simply too good to leave behind. You’ll find antique and vintage furniture, home décor, artwork, glassware, bottles, collectibles, seasonal pieces, and plenty of unexpected treasures.
Part of what we love most about antiques is that every piece has already had a life before it reaches us. We get to become a small part of its story before helping it find its next home.
And because we’re always hunting, the booth is always changing. What you see one weekend may be gone the next, with something completely different taking its place.

Emily
Emily grew up in Hoosick Falls, New York, where her family’s love of collecting antiques sparked a lifelong appreciation for vintage pieces, decorating, and making a home beautiful with what you have. After earning her B.S. in Accounting from Russell Sage College, life took her around the Northeast—from Central Pennsylvania to Boston and eventually to Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, where she and her husband, Rick, purchased their first home.
In 2015, Emily returned to New York, bringing with her decades of experience transforming houses into warm, welcoming homes. Alongside more than 30 years in accounting, she has spent years helping friends and neighbors organize, decorate, rethink, and refresh their spaces. She has an eye for seeing the potential in both a room and an overlooked antique—and is rarely afraid of a good project or a great find.
Elisabeth
Elisabeth was raised in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom before moving to New York, where she earned a B.S. in Digital Forensics, an MBA, and a Ph.D. in Information Science from the University at Albany. While her professional and academic career took her into cybersecurity, her creative interests have always pulled her toward antiquing, old homes, decorating, writing, gardening, and finding new ways to make spaces feel personal.
She inherited her mother’s love of the antique hunt and the belief that some of the most interesting things aren’t found in big-box stores. Whether she’s searching for the perfect piece for the booth, styling a room, working on an old house, or imagining what an overlooked piece could become, Elisabeth loves the story and character that vintage finds bring to a home.
